Cylinder Head Gasket

Cylinder head gasket is an essential part of an engine & the main purpose is to seal all of the combustion chambers which even includes the coolant and oil channels between the head and block. The purpose of this part of the engine is to impart a leak-free seal right from its installation stage & uphold that seal for the life of the engine.


Brazing Application in Cylinder Head Gasket
Brazing is the procedure of joining metals & in case of cylinder head gasket, the purpose of brazing is to optimally seal the combustion chamber which helps in providing the essential optimal balance between the engine component distortion and gas seal compression necessary. This particular kind of metal suspension is applied to steel layers in a contour-stable way. There it acts as blocking-layer after being brazed. The suspension is mainly applied to the finished shaped support layers in a screen printing process.

Brazing Atmosphere:
Hydrogen is used as the brazing atmosphere in the brazing of gaskets. The blocking-layer thickness can be varied as desired from 0.04 mm up to 0.12 mm. The brazing is carried out without flux in a continuous furnace with an inert gas.
